Intention
Article 1: In these rules, the Japanese Society for Horticultural Science (the Society) sets out the particulars relating to advertisements (banner ads) published on the Society’s Japanese-language or English-language websites.
Responsibilities
Article 2: The banner ads should be produced using the language (Japanese or English) of the website targeted by the advertiser. The Society will provide the advertiser with a publishing location and undertake the task of publishing the ad. The responsibility for the content of the ad lies with the advertiser. The Society takes no responsibility whatsoever for the content of the ad.
Position and specifications
Article 3: Banner ads published on the Society’s website are positioned at the bottom of the Japanese-language and English-language websites, and four ads are randomly displayed every time the site reloads. The specifications of the banner ads should conform to the following:
For ads with a white or transparent background, a frame should be added with a color distinct from the main background.
Publication criteria
Article 4: Content is limited to horticulture and related industries. The Society reserves the right to refuse publication.

Article 6: The procedure relating to receipt of banner ads and their acceptance for publication is as follows:
Removal of the banner ad after publication
Article 7: After publication, if the Board of Directors judges the content of the ad to be unsuitable, the Society is able to cease publication of the banner without waiting for the contract to end. In that case, the fees attributable to the period that the ad was not published will be refunded to the advertiser.
Extension of banner ad publication
Article 8: When extending banner ad publication, application should be made to the Society at least one month before the publication period is due to end.
Changes after banner ad publication
Article 9: When the advertiser has changed, for example, the link in the banner ad, the Society should be notified without delay.
Article 10: These rules cannot be revised or repealed without approval by the Board of Directors.
These rules are in force effective March 7, 2015.
