Technical Visit 1 (Technical tour 1)
Tue. 23 April, afternoon - evening
We will visit Daikon-jima Island located in the middle of the Nakaumi Lagoon. It takes about 30 minutes from Matsue Terrsa (symposium venue) by bus. https://www.japan.travel/en/spot/2307

Yushien Garden is a Japanese garden with 250 types of tree peonies.
A commemorative group photo will be taken on the terrace in the garden.
The Gala Dinner will be held in a Japanese restaurant in the garden.
We will escort participants back to JR Matsue Station after the dinner.

A banquet of the symposium is scheduled on Tue. 23 evening following Technical Visit 1. The restaurant ”Momiji" in Yushien Garden is the site of the banquet.
Technical Visit 2 (Technical tour 2)

We will have two visit courses from JR Matsue Sation (the tourist bus stop is close to the SOUTH entrance of the station) at 8:30 a.m.

Course A will return to JR Matsue Sation around 5:30 p.m. via Yonago Airport (YGJ). The members who will board a plane to Tokyo (Haneda, HND) may get off at YGJ. The members who will use Izumo Airport (IZO) need to go to JR Matsue Sation and take a shuttle bus to IZO from Matsue.

Course B will return to JR Matsue Station around 5:30 p.m. via Izumo Airport (IZO). The members who will board a plane to Tokyo may get off at IZO. The members who will use Yonago Airport (YGJ) need to go to JR Matsue Sation and take a shuttle bus to YGJ from Matsue.
Excursion - Post-conference tour –
Optional on Fri. 26 April
This tour is optional. Participants must register separately from the symposium registration (Tour Fee: TBA). We will start this tour from JR Matsue Sation (the tourist bus stop is close to the SOUTH entrance of the station).
Destinations
1. Oni no Shita Burui, a large gorge stretching approximately 2.3 km (Une, Minari Okuizumo-cho, Nita-gun): The natural habitat of Rhododendrons or native azaleas is found in the valley. We will take a hike on recreation trails along the river. https://www.kankou-shimane.com/en/destinations/9285

2. Mochi pounding in the traditional way (Mochitsuki) and Lunch of mochi in local style: Okuizumo-cho is one of the famous production areas of rice in Japan. We will make tasty fresh rice cakes using a big mallet.
3. In addition, we may visit another sightseeing spot (under consideration).
